Azure On premise data gateway installation error RRS feed

  • Gets access issue while creating On premise data gateway cloud service on Azure subscription from VM where On Premise data gateway windows service is installed. Installation of Windows On premise service is successful but error occurs while creating On premise data gateway cloud service in azure portal. I am subscription owner and have contributor access at subscription level. Failed to sign in. Please verify your credentials and try again. AADSTS50001: Resource 'https://analysis.windows.net/powerbi/api' is disabled. at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory.AuthenticationContext.RunAsyncTask[T](Task`1 task) at Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.EnterpriseGatewayConfigurator.AuthenticationManager.AuthenticateWithSelectedUser(String authorityAddress, String resource, String clientId, String redirectAddress) [Problem start date and time] Sun, 08 Jan 2017 00:00:00 GMT

    I am also not able to login to https://app.powerbi.com with same credential and I get below error

    "Something went wrong. 
    Please try again later.
    TECHNICAL DETAILS 
    An unknown error occurred. If you continue to see this error, please provide the following information when requesting support.

  • On Premise data gateway is part of PowerBi team in MS and same has been extended to enable Inbound and Outbound access with Logic App. On Premise data gateway logons to PowerBI API  and hence PowerBI service under Azure Active directory --> Enterprise applications should be enabled. Enabling PowerBI service resolved the problem. Access to PowerBI Service is only required for On premise data gateway installation and once installation is done OPDG doesnt logins to PowerBI Service.
