Lost direct 3d in dxdiag RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently I have seen that my direct3d acceleration has not enabled next to it, preventing me from playing games like the sims2 and so on. I was able to play them a couple of months ago, i went into properties and windows said it could not change anything for the graphics is controlled by my onboard graphics card. Thinking directx could be at fault I decided to reinstall it but got a message which refered me back to directx.log. Inside I found this:

After trying to reinstall my nvidia onbaord graphics driver, vista sp1 and sp2 again and onecare scan and a fix including dxerad which was not compatable with dx 10 or vista, I bought a nvidia g210 hoping to resolve the issue. Unfortunately th eproblem persists and now windows index has put me at base score 1 due to graphics.

  • Hi,

Check your chipset driver from the computer manufacture's side, install the latest one.

And I noticed " This is older DirectX which does not have the version value in the registry.", please refer to http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/msrgeneral/thread/51ef7e39-d233-48c5-a730-4ff3bf050b1e and check the result.

    Regards,

  • I am no longer getting an error when installing directx 9.0c but I still do not have direct 3d and dxdiag still registers directx 10
