PerformancePoint 2007 dashboard output view on SharePoint for different user (role) ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have MS Office SharePoint 2007, PerformancePoint 2007, Windows Server 2008, IIS 6 and SQL Server Analysis Service 2008.

I would like to know is there a way to make default PerformancePoint 2007 dashboard screen view on Sharepoint for different users. Like I create four zones in dashboard designer and I deployed it to SharePoint. But let say my company director open that SharePoint dashboard and he can only see two web zone (web part) out of those four and regional manager want to see screen view like web zones 1 and 4, not 2 and 3.

Is any way I can make dashboard DEFAULT output screen view by user (or role)? Thanks.

  • There might be no feature in PerformancePoint that would allow you to display zones role wise.

What you can try is go for SharePoint's audience targeting on your deployed PPS webparts. For that you would need to create 2 groups Directors and Regional Managers. Add relevant users to each groups. Edit finally deployed dashboard page and apply audience targeting to webparts per group.

    Hope it helps.

Else you can create separate pages of dashboard one for each type of user.

  • Hi,

I checked your link however I can not see target audience option (Webpart > Modify Shared web part > Advanced >  Target Audiences list) in my SharePoint site. Do we need MOSS 2007 or WSS 3.0 to publish the dashboards created using PerfomancePoint Server 2007? (beacuse I am able to publish dashboard to SharePoint site but can't see target audience option?)

    I have SharePoint 12.0.0.6421.
