Urgent- How to change the description of the Room Mailbox - Exchange 2007 RRS feed

    Hi Experts,

    How can we change the Description of Room Mailbox as shown in the below screen capture

    Its taken from address book and we need to change the "Description" to appear as "Meeting Room" instead of "Room"

    I am not sure if this is possible but this can be manipulated to show as you want. I have tried it exchange 2010 and below is how it will looked like. Open EMC > browse to Recipient Configuration > Mailbox. Click on view and then add/remove columns. Remove description and add title field. clicke apply ok to exit. Right click the room mailbox and go to properties. Click Organisation and edit Title field to be "Meeting Room". Click Ok to exit. I know this is not exactly what you wanted but some way this will solve your pupose till you get the other way around. Do let me know if this was helpful.

    Hi,

    We can do that in the "Resource Information" tab of Room mailbox- Adding "Resource Custom Properties"

    But if you add it there it will show up in Description as "Room,Meeting" "Room,AV" like this.

    But my query - Is there a way to remove that default t="Room" in description & enable our custom Description like

    "Meeting Room" "Auditorium" etc

    Ex:

    now it shows - "Room,Meeting" "Room,Auditorium"

    I want - "Meeting Room" "Auditorium"

    Hi,
    No it is not possible to change that description or remove the default one "Room".

    To be able to edit this field, you need to edit the CustomProperty of the room called : msExchResourceDisplay
