Custom Indicator MDX Query PPS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My requirement is to display the Current Record's value in KPI and display the indicator by comparing Current Record's value with Last Record's Value. Based on the difference between these two i have to display different images as trends. I know the Current Record Value and Last Record Value but could you please help me in where exactly i have to write the MDX query to compare both of these and  display the custom indicator.

In PPS designer, in Set Patterns and Indictors i didnt find the section where i can write this MDX Query. Please help me in this.

    Thanks

  • Usually to encounter such scenarios we create a new Target or Actual column (depends on your PPS version) in KPI and under its calculation do the math. Then, suppress the value on this column to only show indicator. On the scorecard add both Current record value column and indicator column.

In PPS 2010 it pretty straight forward to add a calculation.

In PPS 2207 you need to utilize the MDX Tuple Formula.

    Hope that helps.
