Hi All,

I have a client that accesses a document that has been copied locally, but has a template that is saved in a share across a slow WAN link which causes an extremely slow opening time. When the laptop is removed from the network, the file opens nearly instantaneously. Is there any way to have the template copied automatically to the local machine so that when the file is accessed with the laptop plugged into the network, the file opening time is reduced?

Hi,

What version of Office are you using?

You try to add trusted location test this issue.

For Office 2010

Click the File tab. The Microsoft Office Backstage view appears.
Under Help, click Options; the Options dialog box appears.
Click Trust Center.
Click Trust Center Settings.
In the Trust Center, click Trusted Locations.
Click the Add new location button; the Trusted Locations dialog box appears.
Click Browse to find the folder; select a folder and then click OK.

Hi William,

I don't think that will make the template copy to the user's local drive automatically. AFAIK the user will have to attach the local version of the template to the document.

Am I wrong about that?
