This is just a recent issue. I don't know what I did, but I am no longer able to access anything that requires an admnistrators approval. It never required me to have to enter a password in the past. Even when the box comes up to enter a password, there is no place to type one. Not sure how to fix this issue. Can't even remove viruses because it requires an administrator passoword. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. Tried to turn the UAC off, which it wouldn't allow me to do. Could someone please help me?
Try running System Restore and restore the system to a restore point prior to you messing up the UAC settings. =)
Since Vista Home Premium doesn't come with the local policy snap-in, you need to use a registry hack to disable UAC. I've written a script that disables/enables UAC, you may want to give it a try:
