[SOLVED] Why, when I open My Documents, does the folder open half way down the folder contents? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,  I'm sure someone's run into this before.  Normally, when I open My Documents, the folder [shown in Tiled view] opens at the top of the folder.  The scroll bar is at the top of the folder to the right, and I'm viewing the top of folder contents.  Sounds logical, right?

Well, for some reason, and I notice this once in awhile, I get to a stage where the folder only opens part way down.  I double click on My Documents from my desktop, and the My Documents Windows Explorer window pops up, but the contents are half way down.  In other words, to view folders at the top, I have to scroll UP, instead of down.  I have no idea what causes this.  Anyone have any ideas on how to fix a folder that gets like that?  It's happened before too, not always half way, but just a random interval down the folder that isn't at the top.

I think I explained that fairly well but if someone still needs screenshots, let me know and I'll take them.

  • I have no idea why this is, and nobody else seems to know either apparently.  Might just be a display or folder view bug.  To get around it I simply changed the folder view in Windows Explorer from Tiles to Icons, and then changed it back to Tiles.  This seems to have fixed it.  But I'm still curious if there's a reason for why it does that.  Maybe it's just a bug.
