  • Hi dhillman,

Please try as the following steps:

    1. Stop the Load Balance Service & Document Launcher service.
Use Central Admin or use  stsadmin commands on the servers.

     dedicated Load Balancer
      stsadm -o provisionservice -action stop -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions.LoadBalancerService, Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" -servicename DCLoadBalancer
      iisreset /noforce

     dedicated Document Launchers

      stsadm -o provisionservice -action stop -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions.LauncherService, Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" -servicename DCLauncher
      iisreset /noforce

    2. From the Computer Management Console set the Launcher service to use local system account, and the Balancer Service to use local service account.

    3. Disable Document Conversion for all the sites on the Server.
Central Administration --> Application Management --> Configure Document Conversions.
Under "Enable Document Conversions " set to no, click "Apply" and select the next web application.

    4. Start the Services from Central Admin.
Use Central Admin or use  stsadmin commands on the servers.

     (dedicated Load Balancer)
      stsadm -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions.LoadBalancerService, Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" -servicename DCLoadBalancer
      iisreset /noforce

        (dedicated Document Launchers)
      stsadm -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions.LauncherService, Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" -servicename DCLauncher
      iisreset /noforce

    5. Enable Document Conversion for the sites.
Central Administration --> Application Management --> Configure Document Conversions.
Under "Enable Document Conversions " set to "yes", click "Apply" and select the next web application.

    6. Start a conversion (HVU account gets created and enabled by the system during this process).

    7. add the appropriate rights (Admin, Guest, WSS_WPG).

Computer Management --> Local USers and Groups --> users
     Right click HVU_user
     click 'Member of' tab
add the groups. Be sure hat the "From this Location:" window shows the machine name. These are local and NOT domain accounts.

    8. Give this account log on locally rights from the Local Security Policy settings.

    9. Drain stop each wfe in Microsoft Network Load Balancer before rebooting each web front end.

    Thanks,
    Lhan Han
