Exchange 2010 MP and Edge servers

Question
-
I have SCOM 2007 R2 + CU2 installed and the exchange 2010 MP installed. My hub and mail box servers are all function fine and all show as healthy, but none of the edge servers have detected any exchange components.
The Edge servers are stand alone workgroup machines using certificates to talk to SCOM. The base OS is being monitored fine, and the event log on the scom server and the edge are clear apart from a couple of messages like this related to logical disks on the edge server
In PerfDataSource, could not find counter LogicalDisk, Disk Writes/sec, \\?\Volume{8ef79ea7-dd3c-11de-aab6-806e6f6e6963} in Snapshot. Unable to submit Performance value. Module will not be unloaded. One or more workflows were affected by this. Workflow name: Microsoft.Windows.Server.2008.LogicalDisk.DiskWritesPerSec.Collection Instance name: \\?\Volume{8ef79ea7-dd3c-11de-aab6-806e6f6e6963} Instance ID: {FCD3E359-9C01-2D12-E90A-F0472323E746} Management group: Avalon

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
In the end I found this thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagermgmtpacks/thread/55728dc9-85ee-476d-8103-37dbb91aefce
I added the site name via regedit and ran a repair and everything sprang to life.

Hi Stephen,
I would like to verify if there is any event log related to the Exchange MP available.
According to the above log, the disk write performance monitor can be the problem. How about disabling this monitor to check the result? Here is a similar issue:
