SCVMM preinstall question RRS feed

  • It is rather simle.

    We have dedicated server for SCCM. i wonter if it is good idea to install on this server SCVMM? plz any comments? i am new at this so need alot of help.

  • I woulod not recommend that for you, I would never try this coexistence in a production environments (and can't think of any reason why I would want to test this)...

    well it is System Center. as i sed i am new to SCVMM but i thought that all System Center - VMM, CM, OM are part of big project and it is beter to keep them on thesame mahine with thesame database becouse this extend theirs capability further.

    this was a reason why i asked this question.

  • you can share the same SQL server between them , but Do not recommend to share the same machine. You can install every server on a different VMs.

  • i would recommend to have it on separate machine.

    scvmm server it self wil have load as its not yet supported in cluster as per my knowledge.

    And sccm continues keep fetching information from sccm infrastrucure hence to have it balanced.

    please install both separately , each has its roles which will be complicated architecture to troubleshoot and disaster recovery.
