Compliance of file on x86 and x64 computers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys, i have a question- how to create CI's to check file version on 32bit and 64bit systems? I mean for example Adobe Reader AcroRd32.exe file version. This file on 32bit systems is located in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader but on 64bit systems C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader. I created CI that checks this location %ProgramFiles%\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader and I checked "This file or folder is associated with 64bit application" and deployed Baseline to a collection of 23 and 64bit machines. On 32bit machines everything is ok but on 64bit machines compliance state is NON-Compliant :(

How to create CI to check both locations?

  • It's not a 64-bit application though (it's 32 bit -- that's why it gets placed into Program Files (x86) on a 64-bit system) so checking that check box is incorrect.
