Best way to import Excel files from cloud RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello friends,

I need to load data from some Excel files and I need them to sit on some cloud platform (GoogleDrive, OneDrive, etc.)

I've tried GoogeDrive (shared the file and yoused a link in connection)

But it is just terrible! Sometimes it works but sometimes it just shows ERROR that it doesn't find columns that are actually there...

Anyone has a good experience working with Excel Files from a cloud?

    Please help!

    Thank you

    Michael

  • I see. Are you able to generate an anonymous guest link from OneDrive for Business? (This will only be possible if your organization allows it.)

From what I can tell, even if you're able to share OneDrive for Business files anonymously, you likely won't be able to consume them in Power Query. According to the docs:

People who are invited to access documents using anonymous guest links will only be able to view or read files in the relevant Office Online. They will not be able to open files in a corresponding desktop version of the Office program.

Without a link that directly downloads the shared file, consuming in PQ unfortunately won't work.
