  • Question

  • When we download and look at the files contained in the .cab, there is no indication on these files which languages are supported or OS versions. For example, the files are all labeled identically, such as BitLockerManagement.adml, BitLockerManagement.adml, and so on. usually there is a language component? en-us, for example.

the .admx files are the same way.

  • Hi,

admx files are language Independent, that´s why you have adml files if you need this. The adml files are located in a subfolder e.g. en-us you have the same Folders in your policy store where you have to copy the adml file you want.

  • I know that. That's not what I meant. When you open the MDOP_ADMX_Templates.cab file, all of the files have the same name, with no differentiation as to what they are. For example, there are 6 files that have the name BitLockerManagement.admx.

  • you need to extract the cab file to get the correct subfolder structure extracted as well... just open the cab file is not the right way.

You can use "expand" command for this.

  • tried that too. It just appends a number to the end of the file.
