First call to Exchange 2013 ring busy, but subsequent calls go through fine. RRS feed

  • After we upgraded from Exchange 2010 to 2013 we are having an issue where the first call to Exchange rings busy.  If you call it again the subsequent calls go through just fine.  Then after maybe 20-30 minutes of inactivity the first call will ring busy again and all subsequent calls will work.  Any idea why this might be happening and where I should start my troubleshooting?  It's almost like some sort of keep-alive is needed to keep the trunk awake!

  • Ring Busy doesnt sound like a UM problem. I would crank up diags on the MBX servers for UM events and then test and see if those connections that ring busy even make it to the Exchange Servers.
