Resource Plans in PS 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having problems with Resource plans in project server 2013. Two issue present themselves:

    1) On some plans when editing a resource plan the publish button is greyed out. The Save and close buttons function. For one example I copied the plan and saved under a new name. When creating a resource plan for the new plan it failed with following error. Clearly suggesting corrupt data.

    2) After editing, saving ,publishing and closing resource plan, the resource plans remain in a checked out state. I can do a force check-in ok, but do not see a check-in event in the queue after closing resource plan. No errors are flagged. I have recently applied SP1.

    Any thoughts?

    Thx

  • Hello Mike,

I have seen the Publish button greyed out in the past. All I have done before now is closed the resource plan, opened the Project plan - saved then published and closed / checked in that. Once those jobs completed open the resource plan again and the publish button was active.

Regarding point 2, there is a known issue with Resource Plans being left checked out when using IE. This seems to work fine in Chrome / Firefox.

  • Thanks Paul

The checked out resource plan is not a big problem if data is being edited by one person, however if multiple users need to have edit access to the resource plan it is a very inconvenient. Is it a particular version of IE or generally?
