  • Question

  • Is it possible to view only the individual project demand in the resource usage view within project pro 2010 with Project Server 2010? Currently the demand for the individual project is shown as well as "Other Projects" across the Enterprise.  This information is important but I want to know that my individual plan is leveled before looking at the resource from an enterprise perspective.

    Thank you -

The answer is yes.  To do this, first close your enterprise project and exit Microsoft Project 2010.  Launch Microsoft Project 2010 again, but this time DESELECT the Load Summary Resource Assignments checkbox, and then click the OK button.  Open the enterprise project again and apply the Resource Usage view.  Now you will see only the task assignments in the open project, and you will not see the Other Projects and Commitments line for each resource.  Hope this helps.

  • Just to add to Dale's excellent answer, you need to ensure that when you start Project, you choose the account to connect to.  This way you get the prompt that Dale talks about.

  • Thank you both for your help.  This seems to be working in most cases but I have a few users that have the checkbox for Load Summary Resource Info unavalable or grayed out.  What can cause this?

    Thanks again!

Ask those users to follow the steps outline by Ben Howard so that they can see the Project Web App Accounts dialog.  In this dialog, they need to select their Project Server account in the Available Accounts list and then click the Set as Default button to make this the default account.  If Computer is set as the default account, then the Login dialog shows the Log Summary Resource Assignments checkbox as grayed out (disabled).  Hope this helps.
