4 GB with Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

According to this article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605/en-us, Windows Vista (32 bit) cannot support 4 GB of memory.... it can only support up to 3.12 GB of memory.

My question is, should I put in 4 GB of memory into machines that I am building today?  For instance, does it make sense to put in the 4 GB of memory, and let my pci devices use up the 1 GB of memory, thus allowing Vista to use the other 3, or is that not how it works?

Can someone give me an explanation to this?
