  • Hi Anne,

Thank you for your Support. I've resolved the issues with unstalling the WSUS Services then rebooting the Server and installing the WSUS again to associate it with my external database. Every Settings is back to where it was. Thank you once again.

I used this link to install the WSUS.

  • Looks like it is only available via Microsoft Update Catalog

  • Hi Joseph.JJK,

    > I deleted some WSUS Content which was consuming space on the HDD and after 3hrs the WSUS console was unable to connect to the Server.

We will not use this way to spare disk space, generally, we can decline superseded updates and installed updates, then run server clean up wizard to remove these updates.

    >Error: Connection Error "An error occured trying to connect the WSUS Server.

This can happen if you install KB3159706 without doing the manual steps, while since you do the unexpected operation to the content folder, so it's hard to say the root cause.

If you actually install that KB, then do the manual steps and check if result.

If the issue still exits, please check the WSUS log locates in C:\program files\update services\logfiles.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

  • Hi Joseph.JJK,

Just a tip: after installing KB3159706, don't forget to do manual steps to finish the installation.

Besides, most MS updates can be downloaded from Microsoft Update Catalog.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

  • Hi Anne,

I'm not quite sure if this will work after Installation. I Need to get the WSUS console back into Business. Let me explain so it will enable you to figure it out. I deleted some WSUS Content which was consuming space on the HDD and after 3hrs the WSUS console was unable to connect to the Server.

Error: Connection Error "An error occured trying to connect the WSUS Server. This error can happen for a number of reasons. Check connectivity with the Server. Please contact your Network Administrator if the Problem persist"

(Reset Server Node)                    (Copy Error to Clipboard)

Also, with CMD I have done "WSUSUTIL.exe Reset" Unfortunate, Cannot open database "SUSDB" requested by login. The login failed. Login failed for user.

Please help!! Thank you for your Response.
