Remove read only attribute (grey box with check) from folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • When ghosting our Windows XP PC's, users have noticed that the D drives' files and folders all have the read-only atribute (grey box with check) applied.  I have tried the following methods for removing this with no success:

    1) I tried the Attrib command, attrib -R -S d:\test
    2) Reset the permissions on the drive by giving Everyone change priviledges.
Reset the permissions on the folder by giving Everyone change priviledges and removing inheritance.
    4) I have also attempted to the previous steps with a non-admin account & with an admin account.

I am at a bit of a loss for this one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
