Junk Mail, Spam, Security RRS feed

  • Question

  • For years Outlook has done a pretty good job of keeping Junk Mail and Spam out of my email section and sending it to the junk folder.

However, the last couple of months have seen a distinct change.  All kinds of junk mail end up in my inbox everyday!!!  I cannot follow the directions given as suggestions to others that are experiencing the same problem because they do not come from one domain that I can block.  They come from dozens of domains and I cannot spend all day doing this.

What is happening to Outlook?  This would seem to be a very elemental problem for Outlook to fix.  If it does not get fixed, I think that many people will just close their accounts and move to other email accounts.

Can anyone tell me if Outlook is working on this????

  • Hi sandy,

Does the issue happen to your Outlook.com account? Please confirm if the issue persists in Outlook.com webmail.

In your scenario, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook.com account forum for more help:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/omessaging

Additionally, please avoid posting your email address on your social networking site, in large Internet directories, and in job-posting websites. In your Inbox, select the check box next to the message. On the navigation bar, choose the arrow next to Junk to report Junk email.

In Outlook client, go to Home tab, click Junk > Junk E-mail Options, change the level of Junk email to higher to have a try.

  • Thanks Winnie.   Yes, this is all in my Outlook email account.  I do not post my email address on any  public directories.  I do not belong to any social networking sites.  And  I always  classify these emails as junk.  It has not helped.

I will try the other site that  you suggested.
