Windows Server 2003 DNS ipv6 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So we have a server that only handles our DNS. it is Win2k3 and we are using windows dns. I guess I just am wondering if there is any documentation on support for ipv6. While I understand what ipv6 is, I'm not well versed in it and I need to know if there are things I need to do to make our server support ipv6. I would like to get out ahead of this before any problems come up.

  • To get full support for IPv6 in DNS you must upgrade to either Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.  The IPv6 support in Windows Server 2003 was very limited.

    I hope this helps!
