Wuauclt Script Help! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to make a script to run wuauclt /updatenow on multiple computers on the domain from my computer.

    I run,

    psexec.exe  "backslash backslash"computername  wuauclt /updatenow

in a batch file, but I have to manually go in and change all the computer names one by one. How can I make a script that will read from text file named list.txt line by line and apply it to computername? I have tried this many times and read books, and researched the internet, but always end in failure.

  • This is not a scripting issue. We will send you to teh correct page for help with the command utilities:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx

Place names in file and use:

    psexec @computers.txt wuauclt /updatenow

Learn to read the documentaion for a command or utility more completely.  It will save you a lot of wasted time.
