Retreive mail from remote server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our primary internet connection is down and we are using a temporary one with a single ip address.

Our spam provider can't deliver our queued mail since the ip range is down.

Is there a way to have exchange connect out and retrieve the mail thats waiting?

    Similar to how ETRN worked.

    Thanks!

  • Our internet was down. I was using a verizon cradlepoint with one single address plugged into our firewall.

The device is limited. It doesn't do nat very well.

  • Why not route it through the address that's up?

Isn't adding an additional IP address (or range) to your servers (even
    temporarily) easier?

ETRN doesn't "retreive" e-mail, it just tells the other MTA to begin
sending the enqueued messages. They'll still come from the same IP
    address so it wouldn't help.

  • As I explained we only had one ip address using Verizon 4G LTE running our entire network for 2 days.
