Windows Vista Stuck in Infinite Reboot Loop RRS feed

  • Question

  • After going on some websites which I've used and know are reputable, my computer completely froze, so I manually powered it down using the power button. After starting it up again and signing in, the computer randomly restarted with no BSOD or and prior warning. It gives the default, "Shutting Down" sign, and starts back up. Trying to disable the function of automatically restarting when a fatal error occurs by the advanced settings from the HDD, and also the use of the f8 for advanced boot options, the computer still restarts without giving the BSOD or any sort of information why.

I've tried running safe mode, but the computer will still restart and not boot in safe mode. Even when the computer is left idle on the user selection screen, it will restart.

I'm looking for the cause of the problem and a fix to it would also be very helpful and appreciated.
