  • Hi All,

    Im trying to install SCCM 2012 Client on a device which fails with below error

    MSI: Could not register type library for file C:\Windows\CCM\CcmExec.exe.  Contact your support personnel. ccmsetup 9/14/2016 6:18:58 PM 3324 (0x0CFC)

    MSI: Action 18:18:58: Rollback. Rolling back action: ccmsetup 9/14/2016 6:18:58 PM 3324 (0x0CFC)
    File C:\Windows\ccmsetup\{72875A95-4007-4DAC-88D8-66366F9A5045}\client.msi installation failed. Error text: ExitCode: 1603
    Action: RegisterTypeLibraries.
    ErrorMessages:
    Could not register type library for file C:\Windows\CCM\CcmExec.exe.  Contact your support personnel.

    I tried following but with no luck. Please help

    ccmsetup.exe /uninstall
    Remove "C:\Windows\ccmsetup"
    Remove "C:\Windows\CCM"
    Remove "C:\Windows\system32\CCM"
    Delete "C:\windows\smscfg.ini
    REG DELETE HKLM\software\Microsoft\ccm /f
    REG DELETE HKLM\software\Microsoft\CCMSETUP /f
    REG DELETE HKLM\software\Microsoft\SMS\
    REG DELETE HKLM\software\Microsoft\Systemcertificates\SMS\Certificates /f
    Reinstall SCCM

  • What's the error logged in the ccmsetup and MSI logs as they would give a lead to troubleshoot the issues.

  • Below is the error in the CCMSETUP log. The same error is in the Client.msi.log

    I use below to install sccm which worked for all other devices without any issues.

    ccmsetup.exe /retry:3 /skipprereq:silverlight.exe;dotnetfx40_client_x86_x64.exe /BITSPriority:HIGH SMSSITECODE=AUTO IGNOREAPPVVERSIONCHECK=TRUE

  • Dear Sir,

    The log snippet here does not contain enough message. Was there more lines ahead of these indicating problems?

    Is this device something specific to the other computers? For example, write filter enabled on device; different IP subnet it's in; different Operating systems, etc. Just guess work.
