How Do I Add Multiple Email Accounts in Mail App? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

In the Mail app's version bundled with Windows 8 Consumer Preview allowed you to add several email accounts and sync the mail for all of them. I don't see how it is possible in the app's version that comes with Release Preview. Has this functionality just been removed from the app?

    Thank you.

  • It's still possible in the Release preview.

Open the mail apps > Charmbar > Settings > Account. Then a popup appears and you can click on "add account".

  • Hi,

I have this problem too, I think, because of preview Version, so I downloaded windows live mail.

Well yes it's still possible.. however unfortunately there's been a serious bug on this event where the account's pane simply closes the moment you click to it..

Microsoft are looking into it for now.. they will fix it via update

  • Ah, it's been moved to charms! Thank you! I've been looking for the command in the bar at the bottom of the screen which pops-out when you right-click anywhere on the screen (how do you call that bar by the way?)

    It's called the 'appbar'/'application bar'.

  • Anyone know what happens if you have more than 4 accounts on a 1366x768 display?

I can only see the top accounts and can't scroll down to the one that is hidden..

I can't find a way to resize the account selection pane either.

  • I can only check this @1024x768 and it does show the scrollbar.
