Cisco 5505 ASA - Reverse Proxy RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Cisco 5505 ASA and would like to do reverse proxy for it.

We have several web services and one external domain. I would like to have all of the A records for things like mail.domain.com | service1.domain.com | service2.domain.com point to the same static, hit the asa and have the asa see mail.domain.com and send it to the mail server internal ip, similiarly service1.domain.com might be on another IP, have it routed there.

    1) Is this possible? I think the wccp utility might be able to do this?

    2) If it is possible could I get a sample of how to specify it?

    Thanks!

Answers

  • The ASA is unable to inspect the http traffic and make a NAT decision based on traffic it sees. This will not work unless there is a unique static IP for each service.
