This PC has Vista Home Basic x86. A while ago it stopped auto-updating, and for the past few days I've been trying to fix this but am going around in circles.
Windows Update gives Error(s) found: Code 80070490 ... unknown error.
Running the Vista SP2 download gives Error: ERROR_NOT_FOUND(0x80070490)
The System Update Readiness Tool went fine.
I have uninstalled .NET Framework and installed the latest version 4.0.30319.1.
The FixitCenter_Run program says it requires .NET v4.0.30319 which is already installed.
I have also tried running two .msu files but get the error "The update does not apply to your system".
Please let me know how I can proceed, regards Frazer.
