How do Connectors work with multiple subscriptions? RRS feed

    We’re experiencing a problem with SCOM 2012 and Internal Connectors.  Currently when we have multiple Connectors plugged into SCOM, right now just Third Party Connectors like NetCool Omnibus, we have a problem with subscriptions.  If a Computer object is assigned to two subscriptions  and it throws an alert, it will get sent to the first Connector but not the second.  An explanation I heard before was that once the alert gets sent to the first connector, it gets marked as sent and doesn’t go to any remaining subscriptions.  Is that true?  Is the SCSM SCOM Connector going to act like this as well?

    Hi

    Yes - the SCOM <--> SCSM connector will work the same. If you have multiple connectors to SCOM (in our case from SCSM and Derdack), a single SCOM alert will only be forwarded to one. You need to take care as to how you configure the subscriptions to avoid an overlap.

    In the end, we configured all alerts from SCOM --> SCSM and did the second connector (for Derdack notification escalation) just off SCSM.
