Check out fails when excluding an Enterprise Resource from a Department RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I detected the the following issue:

    1. Enterprise resources created before use of Resource Dept field is associated with a department and this department has some mandatory enterprise resource fields. There is not any problem when you enter one of these resources in the dept.
    2. Later you want to take out from the dept. No actual work done. You clean up the values of the mandatory enterprise fields in the Resource Center and then you blank the Resource's Department field and you save it. Until here nothing unusual happens,
    3. When you try to open the resource again appears a red message in the page that the resource is still checked out.

    1. If you go to the Queue page, there is not anything pending. Then you go to the checked-out objects page and there is the confirmation that the resource is checked out. If you force to check in it works and you loose all editing.
    2. The workaround is not to blank the mandatory enterprise resource fields and just blank the Resource Department field leaving the mandatory field trashed. This way it will work without hanging the resource at the check in.
    3. For new resources created after the use of Resource Department field this issue does not happen.

    Is this a bug?

  • Hi R.Segawa

I may have a doubt here. From your 2nd point --

How you blank the Resource's Department field??

  • Hi Manish,

It is simple. Choose again the same option in the lookup table so the field will be cleared.
