Sharepoint lookup like XLS? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a refererence SharePoint list that contains something like this:

    Ap                   APPLE

    Av                   AVOCADO

    Ba                   BANANA

In another list I want to use this data.  I have created a form that has a field using a lookup from the list above.

Assume the user types Ap in the first field I now want to automatically put Apple in the second field.

In XLS this is would be VLOOKUP( Ap, TABLE, 2) or alternatively I would use OFFSET ins some way.

    How do I do this?

    Many thanks

  • With SPD, you can perform the autopopulation, but it doesn't happen at real time.  Only OnCreate or OnChange.

I suppose there might be a javascript solution that will hit the list, return the value, and then populate.
