PAS and SSAS on different servers. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I have a requirement where I need to apply role based secruity to my SSAS cubes along with proclarity where both are on different machines. I have setup the security correctly in the cube. The changes which i have done on IIS of PAS server is removing windows and ananymous login and kept only basic authentication. Now when I access PAS website it is asking me for a username and password and when I enter I can see the correct results with the security applied.

But now when i enable both windows and basic authentication on PAS IIS. These are the happenings:

    Open PAS from local machine:
    http://localhost/pas

    Results are correct.

Open PAS from local machine by entering IP instead of localhost:

    http://10.0.0.1/pas

Hostfile is already configured to identify the same IP as localhost

This is asking me for login box and when i enter the credentials I am unable to see the results, the proclarity page itself is returniing error stating cube cannot be found. When I turn on the profiler on SSAS and see what user is coming, i can see it as anonymous.

Can any one let me know what is causing this issue here. Both PAS and SSAS are on the same domain integrated with AD.

    Second Question:

I need this PAS link to be called from an external portal which is on the same domain as PAS and SSAS, but as you can see my current setup , it will be asking for a login box, can I pass on credentials directly from the external portal to the login box of PAS?
