High CPU usage due to rundll32.exe RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Morning,

I hope that you can help me to find the root cause of my Problem.

Two days ago, I ordered a brand new Microsoft Surface 3 Pro with i7 and 256GB SSD and Win 8.1 Pro.

Beginning with the first usage, I mentioned that the CPU usage is very high. After some reboots I start the TaskManager and recognize that the Host Process "RunDll32.exe" needs more than 30% of the CPU power. If I kill the process everything is normal. But after some time the service starts again and I have the same problem even in idle mode.

I do not know for which Task the RunDll.exe is need or which program starts this Host Service.

I hope that anybody have a solution for my problem.

PS: Sorry for the bad English. I am living in Germany and my English is not the best.
