    i have a vostro 1510 the dvd burner on my laptop doesn't work after installing window can some one please help SONY AD-7640A OPTIARC 8X SLOTLOAD DVD+/-RW DRIVE i have no clue about drivers or software

    You need to contact Dell Technical Support and/or go to the Dell Community Forums.  There are a number of optical drives that require a firmware update to be Windows 7 compatible and yours may be one of them.
