  • Question

  • We have hunders of boxes TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is stopped, and now we need it is started for SCCM 2012 migration and SCCM 2012 client installation. Is there anyway we can do it automatically without starting the service throught boxes one by one?

    Thank you.

  • You can script it, and send out an advert to all your pcs...

  • My supervisor ONLY wants to deploy sccm2012 client through group policy. Is it possible as that service stopped on clients and can't run gpupdate. If the answer is YES, how can we do it?

    Thanks.

  • I'm not following you. What does TCP/IP NetBIOS service have to do with CM12 Client installs?

Gupdate has nothing to do with CM12 client install, if gpupdate is not working IMO, it sound like you have other issues within your environment that need to be resolved before looking at deploying the CM12 client.

  • What we want is that deploy sccm 2012 client through group policy(of course, I knew there are may ways to deploy sccm 2012 client to machines). Those machines couldn't pick up the most updated group policy as their TCP/IP NetBIOS service is stopped. For this reason, they can't receive the most updated group policy which includes sccm 2012 deployment then they can't get sccm 2012 client installed. Does it make sense for you?

So you have an AD/workstation problem that you need to take care of before you try to roll out CM12 client.
