Message was successfully handed off to a different email system - Exchange Server 2016 RRS feed

  • Anytime a mail is sent to external domain, receivers claim they're not receiving the emails.

    i decided to run a delivery report on the messages and i got "Message was successfully handed off to a different email system".

    i don't know why am getting the above message.

    any help to fix this issue?

  • Exchange can only track up until it leaves the environment. So the "different mail system" is whatever the next hop the message takes.

    You can enable protocol logging on your Send Connectors to see the interaction between mail servers:


    Is it only one domain that has trouble receiving from you? If so, have they checked their spam filters?

    If it's more than one domain, do you send straight out of Exchange or through a smarthost like a spam filter or encryption gateway?
