Creating a Monitor for a Process RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to create a monitor for a particular process, we'll call the process, alpha.exe, and I want to generate an alert after it goes over 40% CPU after 5 minutes.

I'm using windows performance counters, consecutive samples over threshold

    Monitor target is Windows Server
    Parent Monitor is Performance

I am having trouble with the object/counter/instance

I know the object is supposed to be alpha.exe, but not sure what the counter and instance are supposed to say and be.

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

Start the performance viewer local on the server, and add counters, then you can see the exact name. That is a easy way to find out the name.
