SCOM 2012R2 DHCP 2012 Error - Failed to enumerate failover relationships RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are running SCOM 2012 R2 and are receiving these following alert on a daily basis which flags as a warning but is in healthy state.

Our DHCP Server is running on Windows Server 2008 however we have other domain controllers where DHCP is not currently enabled however we have our DHCP configuration copied over in case of issue with our main server.

Below is an example of the error - I guess what we want to find out is what should be the best practice of suppressing this warning from showing up considering that failover is not possible on Server 2008.

The PowerShell script failed with below exception

System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException: Failed to enumerate failover relationships on DHCP server ESX-DC-03.Knightstone.local.At line:70 char:28

  • Hi Sir,

    Workflow name: Microsoft.Windows.DHCPServer.2012.R2.FailoverServerWatcher.Discovery

I found the message above , it mentioned it is a workflow to discover 2012 DHCP server .

Based on this , I'm afraid , you have downloaded DHCP 2012/R2 MP .

I only found MP for DHCP 2008/r2 ,and ,  it needs SCOM 2007 :

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8770

I'd suggest you to update DHCP server to 2012/R2 .

    Best Regards,

    Elton
