Edge browser pins ... no favicon RRS feed

  • I noticed when i pin most sites to my start menu in windows 10 i get a generic edge logo.  i pinned youtube and i get the you youtube logo as the icon.

    what can i do to my website to get it's icon to show up when it gets "pinned to start"

    edge doesn't recognize the icon coding that IE, Safari, and Chrome do.

    Thank you for your question.

    We could refer to the following steps to achieve it:

     1.       Type “Edge” in Search table
     2.       Right click “Microsoft Edge” and choose “pin to Start”
    If the above steps didn’t work, we could run “SFC /ScanNow” to check if there are errors.

    go to http://www.buildmypinnedsite.com/en for instructions for 'pinning' web sites for Win 7,8 and X.

    or

    f12>DOM Explorer to inspect the youtube <head> section.

  • Finally there is a solution for this:

    The free app "Web Tiles" automatically creates Start Tiles with icons from the website. You can add custom images, too. Check it it out in the store: https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9nblggh4vg9c
