Oracle source : performance issues / high number of parallel processing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an Oracle source from a PL/SQL query.

The query executed in Toad produces about 20 parallel processing.

The same using Oracle data source in Power Query is over 100 parallel processing.

Which is causing huge performances issues.

Any idea what can cause this behavior?

    What are the workarounds possible?

    Thanks for any help,

    Regards,

  • 100 the same query.

    It's PL/SQL query.

We're not targeting Oracle objects through the query editor/wizzard.

Anyway Oracle Connector is known to be quite loosy in term of performance.

I switched for OLEDB source and now we're closer to the original time when the query on executed direct on Oracle.

  • Is this while you're in the query editor or when you're refreshing the data?

  • What do you mean when you say "over 100 parallel processing"? This terminology is new to me. It's running 100 different queries? Are you using a hard-coded PL/SQL query or have you built an M query using the query editor?
