multiple domain/subdomain setup need distributed management by domain/subdomain RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are planning to build an exchange server 2010.  Our client would plan to have about 20 domains with multiple subdomain.  Some domain need to let other country AD for the management purpose.  And some subdomain also need to let other country AD to do the management.  (e.g. xyz.com -> us.xyz.com, sg.xyz.com, jp.xyz.com & abc.com, def.com in one exchange server).  Is that possible to be done on exchange server 2010?  Any document or requirement (e.g. all need to use windows 2008 server as AD) for the issue.  Many Thanks.

All replies

  • are you talking about hosting multiple domains, if so then YES IT IS POSSIBLE.

But you can't do it unless you own those companies becuase MSFT Support will not suppoort you. In  order do that that you need to buy the hosting license which is for commercial use and this how you can do it and get the support from Microsoft.

If you still want to do the same then respond here I will give you the link.

  • Actually, we only serve one customer which is global customer.  So I think it is ok to get the MSFT support.  Am I correct??

The mail server would like to put in one country e.g. SG.  and allow worldwide user to use.  For the management (e.g. mail account management), they to assign to different countries.  So we want to know whether the management side requirement or is there any way to a truste AD within a fixed IP on that situtation.

Moreover, if you have related information/doc about the setup of this scenario it will be super great helpful.  Many thanks.

  • It is always better to have some sort of support either from Microsoft or via Microsoft Gold/Certified partners.

wher are you based in, which country?

You mentioned country name SG - which country is it?

Yes you can always have Email Server at any location which can be managed over a secured VPN for the email account management.

Do let me know what help you need.
