  • On my FCS server suddenly the Mom Server service is missing and i cant run a repair of MOM because it complains about the service that i need to repair is missing...  Help....

  • Before to think on repairing or reinstalling FCS/MOM, could you please look into MomService*.log is in the "%Windir%\Temp\Microsoft Operations Manager" and in plus the event viewer to get more info about your problem.

  • I have the logs, what am i looking for in them?   This all started yesterday morning.  We had some network connectivity issues and my FCS server lost connection to it's iSCSI volume several times.  That volmue is where FCS and SQL are installed.  Needless to say, my event logs are full of ntfs, disk, ftdisk, iscsiprt, all through the tie we had network problems.  I found a few events stating the MOM service started at 10:30am then failed several times over the next 10 or 15 minutes then thats the last of it.

    If i do have to reinstall FCS, is there a way to export/import my current policies or will i have to recreate them?

  • FCS does not have a policy import/export utility.  You have to clean up any policy information in AD, then manually re-create the policies, and redeploy them as they were before you ran the configuration Wizard.
