  • PLAYER CRASHES WHEN I TRY TO PLAY MUSIC FILE I HAVE XP SP3 I CAN PLAY FILES WITH WINAMP SO MY SYSTEM IS ALRIGHT

  • Uninstall and reinstall WMP 11. In between, see if WMP 9 plays them OK.


    And please turn your caps lock off.

  • Hi,

    This issue might have something do to with the WMDM plugin on WMP.

    If you have a device plugged in such as an iPod, media player, digital camera or memory stick, WMP will try and use WMDM to read the name of the device, if it is unable to read the device name, it will panic and crash.

    Try removing any USB storage you may have plugged in and try again.

    If this proves to be the issue, there is a hotfix for the issue.
