I have a SharePoint 2013 public facing website which opens fine on ie,chrome,firefox,safari for anonymous users on desktop machines but when i open it in iphone on safari browser it prompts me for username and password. when i click on cancel button my website opens up fine.
I don't know why it is prompting for username and password on iphone in safari browser when it is not prompting on all browsers on desktop.
Can anyone help me in fixing it. Thanks in advance.
It is likely due to using the mobile view - http://www.glynblogs.com/2010/08/sharepoint-2010-publishing-sites-and-mobile-views-authentication-issue.html

You may give a try by toggling;
from: <capability name="isMobileDevice" value="true" />
to : <capability name="isMobileDevice" value="false" />
in: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\<web application>\App_Browser\compat.browser
search for "iPhone Safari Browser" in the "compat.browser"
