  • Try creating the backup to the c: drive in a folder on its own. Does it work ? I expect it will and its a problem with backup writing directly to a ram disk.

I looked at the helpfile for the backup program for my os and this is what is says in regards to copying to a dvd:

The destination is a CD-ROM drive or a DVD drive. You can't use a CD drive or a DVD drive to make a backup; you must use a CD or DVD burner, also known as a CD-R/CD-RW or DVD-R/DVD-RW drive.

This would suggest it doesnt write directly to a dvd ram drive, but not having much experience with windows backup its only a thought. What you can do is create the backup to the c: and then copy that file to the dvd ram drive.
