  • You lost me, how to enable it? do you mean how to write the batch file/script ?

  • ok.. i explain it again

For a new windows xp pro sp3, i use command prompt to create & shared a folder (batch file way). I didn't use GUI way.

However, at another pc, if i key in \\PC , it will pop up key in password menu.

    ok, this is become problem.

This problem can be solve if i use normall way, right click -> sharing & security -> click "if you understand... bla bla" -> just enable file sharing

my question is how to go through normall way by using registry/batch file/gpo?

  • this is a VBScript that will grant full access to a specified file or folder. you just need to specifiy that file or folder path, and list the user, which for everyone would be "All Users" and if just for some you would have to specify each one individually
       -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
cacls "The SAME file or folder path here" /g USERNAME:f
       -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

this one REMOVES the permissions, again you would have to specifiy the file or folder path, and the user(s)
       ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CACLS "Your File or Folder path here" /p USERNAME:n"
       ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
     I hope this helps you
