SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 - ADR Failed to download the update RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

i have a update my SCCM 2012 R2 to SP1 CU1 and after a few days i check the ADRs. Because my System Center Endpoint Protection Definition was outdated. So i see that the ADR was failed with "Auto Deployment Rule download failed". So i press Run Now. It works but on the next automatic run from the ADR it failed again. And other ADRs that run monthly thy failed also but if i start it manual it works fine too. So i found in the rouleengine.log this errors:

    Ruleengine.log

I check also the Proxy settings.

    SUP Settings

    Someone have a idea?

  • Just make sure the proxy are properly configure with the right account.

Start the rule and look at the file to see what is different. Normally when a download is started by someone the log goes in there temps folder.

Also it would take you 5 min to reconfigure the proxy configuration and account to make sure everything work. You also have a test the account when you make a proxy account (i would do that as well).

  • 193 = HTTP_STATUS_FORBIDDEN

Can you look at the PatchDownloader.log it might be a issue with the proxy.

    Maybe redo the proxy configuration.

  • Check the Logs Folder inside the SMS_CCM Folder on your Site Server.

  • Do a search for that file as it's a weird one.

    PatchDownloader.log

Records details about the process of downloading software updates from the update source to the download destination on the site server.

The computer hosting the Configuration Manager console from which downloads are initiated

  • 0x800700c1 = %1 is not a valid Win32 application.

It looks like your Proxy blocks or is malforming the download. You should Review your Proxy configuration as Frederick suggested on your Site System Server that is hosting the Software Update Point.
