Program window stretching issue. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I haven't change any of my settings recently and actually moving and stretching program windows has gone from realtime visible stretching to this

It now does this and applies the change after I release my mouse click.

  • You've cut off the top of the one window that is being displayed, so I can't tell for sure, but I don't see any transparency...  It looks as though your theme may have been set to (or have reverted to) Windows Basic.  You can right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize to review what theme is set to.

To review your current Performance settings:  Click Start, right-click Computer, and choose Properties.  Then click the Advanced Settings link, and in the System Properties dialog that comes up click [Settings...] in the Performance section.  What do you see there?  Is it set to () Let Windows choose what's best for my computer?  Is the checkbox next to [ ] Show Window Contents While Dragging checked?

If everything's as it should be, perhaps you need to troubleshoot Aero problems:  Click Start, type Aero into the search box, and click Find and Fix Problems with Transparency and Other Visual effects to get started with that.

It's possible Windows Update delivered a display driver that caused a problem.  You might find that you can download and install a better display driver from the web site of the maker of your video card.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks very much for the reply. I checked in the performance section and it was checked, I unchecked and then re-checked and it fixed the problem.
