  • Question

  • Hello All,

    I keep getting the following alert:

    =========================================================
    While processing a MOM script, the script failed to execute the following external API: CreateDbUtils().
    Error code: 5.
    Description: Invalid procedure call or argument.
    Rule name: Run Flood Detection.
    Script name: Microsoft Forefront Client Security - Event flood detection.
    =========================================================

    I've been unable to track down the cause, has any anyone else seen this?

  • Please verify which computer generates those alerts. This is a server side script.

    If the alert is being generated on a client, it is obvious that it fails to connect to the database. The question is: why this client run the server rules? To verify this, please verify that the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\1.0\Config does not exists (should be only on server machine).

    If the alert is being generated on the server, you need to verify if the database is functional and that the MOM Action Account has permission to connect it.
